Weird and Wacky Scientist

Experience out-of-this-world wonders at the Astronomy and Science Camp. The Weird and Wacky Scientist program focuses on physical science concepts. Students examine fireballs and microwaves and rockets and use atmospheric pressure to implode soda cans. Physical science has never been this much fun!  Bring a sack lunch.

Fee: $20/student; $30 with team building and zip line

Adventure in Blackstar Mine

Adventure in Blackstar Mine takes place in the Mining Camp and includes an emphasis on Gold Rush history and earth sciences. Students climb down into the Lucy-Lou Mine to learn about earthquakes, plate tectonics, fossil fuels, mining, rocks and minerals in a fun, hands-on fashion. Bring a sack lunch and be ready to get your overalls dirty!

Fee: $20/student; $30 with team building and zip line

Day on the Rancho

Mosey on over to the Ranch Camp for a Day on the Rancho. This program includes an emphasis on California early settler history and life science concepts. Students explore the citrus grove, vegetable garden, and windmill and solar powered well and learn about soil, compost, plant anatomy, photosynthesis, pollination, pests, and the water cycle.  Bring a sack lunch and get ready for a taste of the good ole days!

Fee: $20/student; $30 with team building and zip line

Day programs are from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm and students bring a sack lunch.

Team building and zip line activities can be added to all programs for an additional $10/student. Please allow an extra 1 – 2 hours, depending on your group size, to complete these additional activities.
